Has anyone tried using the Power FC Boost Controller Kit with the 1ZZFE PowerFC?

No, but have a few rx7 friends who have used it, as well as a supra friend with an EMS. It's basically just built-into the software, you still have to get the solenoid to send the signal and put it in the engine bay. Pretty straightforward, and makes it all in one place in the cabin. Allows lotsa neat adjustments as well, so easily as good as the best electronic boost controller if you're good with the PFC.

I would really like to see somone do this and report on it. In addition to the boost solenoid there has to be a pressure sensor in whatever kit Apex sells.

I have seen conflicting reporst on whether it is really as good as a the best standalone boost controlllers.

They are the same according to apexi web site and the boost function in pfc is there.

With my WRX I ran a standalone (UTEC) but instead of using there ABC (automatic boost controller, similar to what the PFC is I am sure), I decided to go with the SBC-iD. The SBC-iD is dual solenoid so it holds boost stronger, you can do boost scramble, and peak boost, it also has warning sensors and buzers, and if you get the power meter id with it, it acts a logger too.

if any of this is possible i have always wanted to set up my AVC-R to work w/the pfc, i just dont think it works tho...from almost every post on here everyone is saying " i think" and " i heard" and stuff like that, so i wont even bother trying any of this till someone knows for sure and the only definite answer ive ever heard is no.

If you already have the AVC-R, why don't you just try it?

Why would you want to use an AVC-R with a PFC? They do the same thing don't they? PFC is just a stand alone computer that can do all Air Fuel management and VVTI control..

As far as the boost controller, I gave up trying to make it fit and just went with a Profec-B as Huan mentioned. Works well and I get an extra electronics thing to display!!

Not AVC-R, but just the boost control solenoid from AVC-R, controlled by PFC.

I'm hoping someone could tell what the PFC can do, if it controls the boost. Possibly more than the AVC-R.

Personally I'd love to have a single unit controlling everything. I know others prefer to have several units, each controlling just one thing, but I never saw the advantage of that...

Anyone played with the PFC+boost controller? What does it allow? Different boost at different gears? Extra button to control between two points?

(just being curious)
"BOOST CONTROL KIT
The Boost Control Kit is an optional kit designed to control boost through the Power FC. Simple connection to the Power FC allows the user to access a full self-learning boost controller. The Power FC allows up to 4 different boost presets for any stage of driving. The high grade solenoid valve is the same one used in our Super AVC-R boost controller. As with the S-AVCR, the Boost control kit allows increased boost response and boost stability at high RPM's"

i havent looked lately at the settings that you can control for boost in the datalogic software, but it would be a lot easier to mess around and tune w/the power fc and log data and check maps on a laptop than it is to use the AVC-R. Just being able to compare maps side by side on the laptop would make it a whole lot easier and i think i can do more things that way.
