    Default Introducing Peep

Peep is my project car, purchased in Northern Michigan with only 59K on the clock.

Peep was advertised highly and from a Toyota dealer in Northern Michigan and I drove it for a testdrive. It snowed!

No check engine light all looked good other than the weather in Traverse City.

Okay, I talk too much. Peep has failure at pre-cats and burns oil at 1qt/400mi. GRRR! Opened O2 sensor ports after check engine light came on within 15 miles of driving car and found an empty pre-cat and partially empty pre-cat.......GRRRR!

Pics attached. Peep is planned to go from 1.0 to PEEP 2.0 in early 2019

Hope to give back to the community and I have been working on Peep 1.0 for 2 years!

    Some pics attache for starter.

    Cool

Not to say that only the fastest colored (Solar Yellow) Spyder's have precat issues, but I had almost exactly the same issue.

If misery loves company, do a search on Itsy Bitsy saga. Which walks you through what my restoration process looks like.

    Welcome!

Welcome to the brotherhood of yellow.

TIP: To keep our yellow Spyders from getting faded, we drive faster than the sun.

Story continues. Weeks later I rented a trailer and picked-up Peep and drove through another snow storm to my Marion, OH where Peep could sleep the rest of the winter months.

GRRRR. Peep off trailer on check engine light on.

    Hello Scotched,

    Thank you for your comment.

Would your user name be better as "Scorched"...?

    LOL and thanks again,

    Hello Haloruler64,

I think Peep is not from around here. In Michigan cars go bad FAST. Had 1993 Mk-2 turbo.....LOVED it, started to rust.....GRR and my summer car.

Thank you for your welcome response!

    Default HELP! C-60 Transmission tear-down

Cannot find a good gear puller with low-profile jaws.

Can anyone recommend a product for pulling gears from C-60? Stuck on outer housing now.

Have budget for tools vs giving trans to outside company.

    Thank you in advance,

    MR. P
