How about some work on the database to update the base forum page.

Me too. And only when accessing this verticalscope forum. No other websites have pop up spam.

    Hello there,

Unfortunately, the pop-ups have a unique URL when it triggers/
We're catching them as they are reported.
We notice that if they keep getting blocked, they'll eventually occur less.

Keep us posted on more of these.

    Sent that one up.
Yes they may look the same but the URLs are different as they occur.
It is on our end and we're looking into this.
Unfortunatley there's no ETA on a fix.
We will continue to get these blocked as them occur.

    Sorry for the inconvenience,

    Ed

I'm not getting pop-ups, perhaps because I have several anti-sh!t programs running.
None-the-less, my original complaint stands. The original offending spam still appears, and SpyderChat posts are not current.

This is is the same thing I got. Until I deleted history it would appear and while trying to close out the fvcking spin feature activated so I have no idea what got loaded to my iPad so thanks for that. I think I'll stick with the marginally safer FB group until you guys can figure out how to secure your site.

I find this all amusing. I occasionally catch hell from others for using a "Google spyware device" (AKA Chromebook) as my daily web browsing machine, but I honestly don't care. These things have NEVER once given me issues with pop up ads, not even on this site. I can't say the same for the Windows and Apple devises I've used in the past. Things simply run smoothly year after year without me ever having to do a thing. Life has been so much better!

While I appreciate a well running machine I am not about to go out and by a new device just to view Spyderchat. This was never a problem until Spyderchat was sold for thirty pieces of silver by Don. It was always ad free and the members contributed money to keep it that way, so we thought. Since the change in ownership to a corporate entity the usability of the site has continued to degrade. Pop-up ads that cover the page and won't go away, spam, insidious music playing in the background and the canned response is "can you send us a link?" How about securing the site and vetting the ads before having the members do the site owners work for them? This is aimed at the admins, not you turbogts22. Done ranting for now...
