I was vacationing on the island of Maui in February of 2001 when I was passed by one of these suckers on the PALI (lower road) and immediately became intrigued to say the least. Of course I thought it was a Boxter but soon realized exactly what it was after jumping on the internet later that day.

Got home and called my local Toyota dealer (one in my town) and test drove on March 10th, 2001. They only had one car (mine!) which had 8 miles from the factory on the odometer at the time of my initial test drive. We took it up around 10 miles and I came back later in the day with my brother taking it out for another 10-15 miles.

Bought on March 14th, 2001 with 32 miles on the odometer.
