the bigger, 'F1' fits both.

ur good with either.

Is that part of a part number?
yes

the 'F1' is the longer one compared to the 'F2'

90915-YZZF1/F2 is the full part #.
So at a parts store I can look it up using a Celica GT-S basically ?
Here's what I run:
http://www.amazon.com/Purolator-PL14477-PureONE-Filter-Pack/dp/B000E8T81A/

Long = PL14477
Short = PL14476

You'll notice the configurator says it fits the Celica GTS (but not the MR-S, even though it does fit). So yes, you can look up Celica GTS.
About how much more oil do you guys use with the 2ZZ filters ?
Not that much 4qt will fill it nicely just read the stick LOL ( the stick sucks)
Yeah, it's really hard to tell the level.
YES!!! I posted a link before Oldman!!!

Oil Filters Exposed thread I have saved from long ago ;)
Do some research before assuming Toyota/Denso is the best. I've read complaints about the US market Toyota/Denso filters (made in Thailand). It's even a different part # from what came with cars brand new (made in Japan).

Mixed reviews between the links.

The interesting thing is seeing different designs for the YZZF1 filter. I heard about the funky pleat design and OldMan's pic is the only shot I've seen of it.

Curious to know which one Toyota is using currently.

edit: Here's a shot of the JDM 90915-10004 filter, for completeness
