Hey all,

I’m just about to install all the transmission to the motor and some questions popped up in my head...

  • Can I use the same bolts from the Auto flywheel on the manual flywheel?
  • Is there a pinion bearing or something that I need to add?
  • Any other tips or warnings?

Do not use the AT flywh6bolts on an MT flywheel. Different lengths.
Thanks, I had a feeling.

I’ll order the manual flywheel bolts tomorrow.

Will I need anything else?

Not sure if the 2zz has the steel plate between the eng oil ne and trans. In other toyotas that plate was a different thickness in at vs mt and would cause starter interference with the block. I don't think it's an issue here though.

Hello 2mAn,

1) Never use same bolts on 2zz. Believe they are torque to yield or have "loc-tite" pre-installed on bolts.
2) With clutch kit you may get a small black plastic bushing that acts as a pilot bearing (I have C-60 trans)
3) Toque bolts to OEM or clutch kit provider.

Good luck, send pics!

nope, no shim on the zz motors.

I have no idea why they use it on the 3sgte and 8ar motors. Different transmission? Weird.
