Sorry, I just don't see the problem. At the other site, trolls run rampant... and no ads to be found, no profit. Also, no content. If I ran a website and found a way to make it profitable instead of costing me money, then what's the harm? Ultimately, the users all decide if they want to stay.

I do post on the other board, probably a bit more than I post here, mainly because it keeps me in touch with people I've known online for more than a decade who no longer frequent this board because verticalscope don't give a crap about it. All they care about is numbers, not members.

As for the content, sure, it's lacking, but some of the longest regular members are on the site, ready and willing to answer just about any question thrown their way. I have more respect for the knowledge of LT, Dev, Nelix and TBone than just about any other person in the Spyder community, and having the likes of DDPR, Phat and Cap there as well, even if not regular, is the icing on the cake.

I could argue that every bit of useful knowledge they've posted has already been posted here, and is searchable. Further, they're not the only ones who know what they know. In the case of TBone, just search his name on any site he frequents and you'll find evidence going back a decade or more of him just flat out behaving badly.

In any case, I find everything I need here. Ads aren't a problem. I don't have the beef with the prior ownership of the site that some of you seem to have, nor do I care about it. I've been a SysOp and SysAdmin going back to FIDONet and WWIV and some things just never change. There will always be the adult children who lurk around and just love to jump in to prove how right they are and how wrong everybody else is. They always have wacky political views and just can't wait to foist them upon others.

Dev's been a standup guy, done some transactions with him. Not sure who LT is. TBone and Nelix fall into the adult child category I mentioned before, and I simply have no use for them. Sure, I'm guilty of teasing them into a reaction, but only after having been goaded myself.

I've met some really good people here on Spyderchat. The only ones I've met on the other site are ones I already knew from here... nobody new. At this point I just don't feel that there is anything new I can learn by being there, versus being here. I've got limited time in my day, and now I've wasted some of it. Time to go back to work.
