Antenna Grommet

Hello Group,

I need to replace the rubber antenna grommet on my 2002 spyder. This is the fixed antenna. According to a couple of posts it is an easy two step process

1. Remove the old grommet - probably in pieces
2. Slip the new once in place - press fit assisted by soapy water lubricant

Is this correct? Sounds easy, but ...................................
Thanks for your help

Depends on the type of grommet.

If it's the all-rubber one then you need to take the antenna out and snap it on first.
Probably helps to warm it up a bit first. It's a very tight fit.
You mean Foreplay?

I actually snapped the grommet into the fender, then the antenna into the grommet, from underneath. Seemed pretty easy.
If you buy the grommet from me, I include printed instructions with pictures. If you want to do it right, there is more to it than plop one out ans hammer the other one back in.

It's not too difficult, but it does require a couple more tools and removing the right rear wheel and fender liner.

I will contact you on your web page.
