ok so for a day or 2 now i have noticed a buzzing noise coming from the front drivers side of the car, further inspection brought me to look under the (front) hood, and it seems that the buzzing is coming from my fuse box. i asked the dealer's service guy about it and, of course, he said its 'normal' - their reply to everything. i have never noticed this noise before and its too loud for me to think that i just never noticed it... its actually loud enough that you can hear it inside the car when the radio's off. and it goes away when the engines off and does not come on with the key until the engines turned on. the dealer guy said its just the sound the electronics make. i just cant see this as right... help?? there are also 3 clicks from under the front hood when the key is turned on, the guys said it was just relays. again i dont know how ive just noticed this now, ive had the car 5 months... any help is totally appreciated.

Some buzzing and clicking is normal. It's probably nothing. I guess it depends on how loud it is, but I think you just happened to notice the normal sounds.

thanks buds. i guess maybe it was always there? i dunno. anybody that wants to check it out go pop the front hood and lean toward the fusebox to the right. thats where its comng from. i could just be extra sensitve since my poor car had to stick it out in a hurricane cuz the garage was full of everything else... who knows. im takin a trip over to panama city weds and thurs maybe ill swing by the toyota dealer there and see if they say the same...

I own a 2001 MR-S and I have the same buzz noise. My dealer said not to worry about it so I guess this should be considered as normal.
My car is a European spec (I live in Belgium) with SMT gearbox. I noticed on several occasions that the noise tends to come off when pressing the brake pedal. What about your car ?

yeah for some reason when it first happened i thought maybe powersteering too. and the buzz does go away for me to belgium bud, but i cant honestly say when it is, it seems like different times for me. and then there are times when it doesnt seem to be there at all. i dunno. powersteering but its normal? i just cant convince myself that its always been then there all along. regardless, is there a fix for it? thanks for all replies 8)
