had my 1ZZ engine rebuilt and picked the car up last Friday (10th Feb). so am running it in as per general consensus.
BUT, after about 15minutes the :check engine light" comes on. when i plug in my OBD reader I get NO error message.
so I presume there is no fault? if i turn off the engine and restart immediately, i can drive another 15 minutes before it comes on again!
any ideas out there please? as to what it could be.

I also have one of the "UltraGauges" mentioned on SC, and that tells me no errors as well.

First off discount the battery to clear codes. Leave discounted for five minutes. Then re-contect. If it comes back on, I will probably be one of the two off of the exhaust manifold.

did as you recomended kaustein and then went for a drive. drove for approx 90 minutes no problem. stopped for a coffee, when I came out and started off again. after 15 minutes "check engine" light came on.
still no error code.

Is this the Check Engine Lite. or is this the 'Gear Lite' for the SMT?..

I did not think the Cars in OZ were OBD2?..

it is a 2002 SMT model. and it is OBD11 reader finds it as "9141".

yes the "check engine" light, the little engine symbol on the bottom of the cluster. just lights up with nothing flashing.
