So after soaking everything in PB blaster...
Its not budging.

the bottom ring wont unlock and the whole coilover wont turn to raise.

I dont think I am doing it wrong am I not?

1. you loosen the bottom ring, and turn the whole assembly counter clockwise.
2. Retighted the bottom ring.

I cant go pass step 1?..

Any more advice?

Screw driver and hammer. Tap the screw driver with the hammer to knock the lock nut loose.

Don't use a torch. You will cook the paint on the aluminum lock nut. You could also melt the teflon band on the piston inside the shock.

I know it is not a good idea but without the torch I would have given up.Winter driving with coil overs is another bad idea.

I tried a pipe wrench with a long pipe for leverage. It would have pulled it right off the jack stands if I tried any harder.

i will find a pipe wrench later and see if the torch method works this weekend...

Ive like almost given up on this and maybe to see if a shop have any better luck...

The lower locking ring is almost stripped of its 'teeth'. PB blaster seem to run right throught and it still wont budge.

Im suspecting the tread might be off since there is gashes on the treads a few mm above the ring.
