BY THE WAY - there are a lot of other great roads in the area - yes the dragon can get a little crowded. Driving the blue ridge parkway on the way to or from the Dragon can be pleasant - but I am biased as it is only 2 hours from home to Fontana Dam for me
My cabin is two hours away. There are a LOT of great roads between. Deals is cool but you really can't push it. It's way too busy these days. For some reason people think a super curvy road is a place to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles left of center. However, it is a good place to meet up and hit some other roads.

Personally, I think a better place to meet is Two Wheels of Suches.
Yes, it's a "motorcycle resort", but it has a nice campground, cabins, a dining room and a big lot that's just for cars and trucks. If we tell them we're coming, they'll even reserve an area for us to park together. They're all about having small events, in hopes of people dropping a few dollars during their visit.

Hammock camping is superb, and the giant snapping turtles in the creek are usually mating in the spring, so that's fun too

Have to agree - dragon is a means to and end for us and our Fontana timeshare. Some times I even drag the boats up the dragon!! Cuz Fontana is a great lake - back on topic - could even meet in Bryson City - that is where the "Elements on the Dragon" will meet up in May.
So many great roads - in the area,
NE Georgia Mountains absolutely has great roads - Murphy would be an interesting meet up place - but the road there is a little too straight. TWOS looks awesome - especially the ribs - and I just ate.
The goal is getting spyders together - I will try to make it whenever it gets planned. But still don't have AC - so hoping earlier in spring
Is there an event website or FAQ for this event?I will be at the Dragon for the hillclimb in July.The hillclimb is about 30min from Deal's Gap.
Would love to see more MRs doing hillclimbs out here.

Rollbar and seat are the only big things. Fire suits can be had for like $150, extinguisher and mount like $40, harness like $150.
I did all my ordering and installing within two months and that was just due to lead times.

Which aligns with 'Spring Touge fest'..which I did google. Basically a come run in the canyon type event.
I should be able to make early April too.
Time for someone to do a doodle pole or survey monkey or something... Or we could go 'dictator' route and pick a date...
I'm not sure if your going along with the joke of never talking about touge fest, but here's the Facebook group. The Official TougeFest Group | Facebook. the main even is in fall but there's a smaller one hosted in spring. It's organized by killboy and it's mostly JDM cars but you see a good mix of cars.

@wllbst I wasn't joking. I had to google it, but yes found the facebook page too, thanks for the link. If would probably be an ok group to be up in Fontana with, that way the spyder owners who wanted something to do after 9:30 pm (when the others had gone to bed) would have someone to talk to. 😆
