Forget upgrading to a 2ZZ, who’s going to install the G16E-GTS turbocharged motor from the GR Yaris/Corolla? Is this a swap we can expect to see in the near future?

Seems like a waste of money when you can reach the same result by turbocharging a 1ZZ for much cheaper.
But turboing a 1ZZ doesn’t get you as much street cred. Admit it, you know you want to be the first guy at your local cars and coffee who can brag that he has the Gazoo Racing motor. 😂 😉

...maybe if street cred helps you sleep at night? Is that you?

Fortunately, I don't care about what anyone thinks and don't have any desire to flex my wallet for attention.
Take it easy, Francis. It was just a joke.

Not much to brag about when "performance" cars all have 1000 HP from the factory with angry cat, wombat, whatever badges on the fenders.
Wombat. 😂
Don’t underestimate the mighty Dodge Wombat:

“Humans can receive puncture wounds from wombat claws, as well as bites. Startled wombats can also charge humans and bowl them over, with the attendant risks of broken bones from the fall. One naturalist, Harry Frauca, once received a bite 2 cm (0.8 in) deep into the flesh of his leg—through a rubber boot, trousers and thick woollen socks. A UK newspaper, The Independent, reported that on 6 April 2010, a 59-year-old man from rural Victoria state was mauled by a wombat (thought to have been angered by mange), causing a number of cuts and bite marks requiring hospital treatment. He resorted to killing it with an axe.”causing a number of cuts and bite marks requiring hospital treatment. He resorted to killing it with an axe.” –Wikipedia

Myself, I’m going to install a Honey Badger emblem on my fender.

Either way, I don't see what the point is. 400 whp is just stupid in this chassis and would put the car in the power-to-weight class that is comparable to modern supercars... only they're filled with electronic gizmos and technology to help you put that power down. The biggest difference is that the wheelbase is much smaller than most supercars and would probably be completely bonkers to drive without serious consideration for the traction problems it would have. I honestly think 250 whp is pushing it on this car, let alone anything more than that.
It seems that you are correct. From Wikipedia, with regard to the AW11 222D rally car prototype:

“However the short wheelbase did prove to be a challenge when driving it, as Toyota Team Europe owner Ove Anderson describes: "you never knew what it was going to do. with such a short wheelbase and such power in such a light car it could swap ends at anytime, and without any warning". The 222D also suffered from enormous turbo lag as did most of the competitive Group B cars, but this paired with the extremely short wheel base made driving it at speed almost impossible.”

“During a surprise appearance at the 2006 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Toyota drove and displayed a black 222D. The race-ready car weighed around 750 kg (1,650 lb) and its transverse-mounted, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine (what appears to be a 503E race engine, though other prototypes may have used the 4T-GTE) was reported to produce as much as 750 hp (559 kW).”

Just for general info because too many people are unaware: You wíll be able to make a 911 alarm call. Even without money on the phone or zero signal a 911 call will be picked up by satellites and relayed.
It needs to be a proper emergency though or you will get non-funny charges.
Thanks for the info. So I looked it up and rather than being picked up by a satellite, when your phone has zero signal, that’s because it can’t access your carriers network. However, when you dial 911, your phone sends out a signal so all carriers networks can place the call. So zero signal doesn’t necessarily mean there aren’t any other networks nearby, just not your own. But of course if there aren’t any towers within range at all regardless of network, the call won’t go through.

Still, you might be able to call 911 using wifi if there’s an open wifi signal within range. But you can only do that if you activate wifi calling on your phone.

If you want to read the source of this info for yourself, this is where I got it from:Can You Make 911 Emergency Calls Without a Cell Signal? - Survival Sullivan

it is not the SIM which sends the signal but the antenna. Com satellites will also pick that up, In case no tower responds it will be relayed. No, there will be no phóne call/connection but the alert is passed on.
Worked several years in first line response here in the mountains. Was also the mounted unit for tricky to reach sites.

Anyway, the message is; DO call in case of emergency on roads like the one mentined even if you have zero signal.
Well the link I posted did indicate you could even use an old phone not on any network and without a SIM, so somethings apparently happening whatever it may be. It’s definitely worth trying if ever in that situation.

Wherever I go, I always take with me a courier pigeon, trained to home itself back to the nearest police station, carrying the message "Send help please."
I always carry three things for survival; a blanket for smoke signals, a set of flags for semaphore, and a telegraph. I haven’t needed them yet, but you never know when cell service will be unavailable whether due to remoteness or an electromagnetic pulse.
