Hello everyone,

I'm 29 and am from south of France.
I'm the 8th owner of 2001 MR-S (bough in Jun 2015).
The car had 115.019 km and has for now ~215.000 km.
I drove top down, but feeled nothing. So I installed hard-top for always (sport look).

The 3th owner's modded the car :
- full interior replaced by FL (seats's exception)
- engine and transmission swapped by 2003's version
- CAi (modded stock airbox), PPE header and sport cat
- clutch ACT Stg.1 with Fidanza flywheel
- OZ ultraleggera ET35-7-17
- KW V3 coilovers
- front strut bar

I run with low oil level. So the crankshaft was too damaged (engine had 146 022 miles).

Now, the MR-S is back with another used engine, witch came from MR-S 2003 with only 104 000 miles.
I've founed the Celica C63 gear ratio little bit too long. So I bought another Celica GTS reconditionned transmission WITH LSD this time.
Here the video with stock ECU :

I installed Lotus S2 rear diffuser on the back of the car. I had to cut the rear bumper and made home-made bracket.
That wasn't difficult. The 2 holes fit with the stock "plastic diffuser" screws. I painted the diffuser in black paint for BBQ high temperature.

The result is not perfect. It really look better without the cuted rear bumper. As the car and diffuser are black, it's not so flashy.
The main goal is valided : it's efficient and hot air don't stay in engine bay. Of course, it not working without cuting rear bumper.

My PPE sport cat was dead, so I bought Ragazzon universal sport cat and made it welded. Ragazzon universal has the same dimensions than PPE.
My 5th years old thermic V-band was in bad shape so I replaced it for new one. Instead of installing them on the header only, I did it on the sport cat too.
I bought C-One Style side skirt on MR2-BEN.UK (around 260 USD shipped). I need to cut it a little bit (1mm or less) but the fitement is pretty good.

I bought TRD Style rear wing from TPSShop (Facebook) in Malaysya but didn't receveid it yet.
Import and export was shut down due to Covid-19 but it's now open since 19 jun 2020.

A little duel against my brother's STi :
C-One style sides skirts and TRD Style spoiler painted and installed.

On black colored car, C-One sides skirts fit very well on the shape of the body.
Below, you can see the line that goes from the front fender arch to the rear fender arch.

I recorded the acceleration of my MRS with a Racelogic Performance Box.
Results are good with stock ECU. I've felted that the TRD Style spoiler was slowing down the car after 180 km/h.

Yellow headlight tint, Modified Lotus Elise S2 rear diffuser and OZ Ultraleggera 15X7 ET37 installed.
5mm spacers will be installed (ET37 > ET32). Fronts wheels are OK without spacers. Rears wheels needs spacers.

What did you use to tint the headlights yellow?
What did you use to tint the headlights yellow?
I used it : Film autocollant "Jaune ancien" pour phares
It's thicker than "standard" tint and the colour is deep like old europeans cars. Installation was pretty easy with 2 persons.
Side vent bought from Japan (copy of very rare model).
To me, better looking than C-One.

I'm more of a black mesh kinda guy but there's so much black on the car already...those scoops look really sharp.
New exhaust installation. Made by MALIAN in UK, race exhaust model. Lighter and better gas flow than a TTE's one.
Louder than TTE exhaust of course, but probably not too loud to circuit DB restriction.
Cost : $445 (shipping and tax included).

Installation of Ropey Racing rear crash bar. Made in UK and laser cutted. Perfect fitment. Lighter than stock's one.
Cost : $445 (shipping included - didn't get taxed for this one for France).

I've always wondered if the Ropey flat type crash bar was pretty flexible compared to the tube style crash bars.

Great documentation. I think you should have kept the Brz wing but the one you have now works pretty well too. Nice rubber front lip too.
The flat crash bar is more flexible than the tube one, who got reinforced structure. But the flat is enoughly strong.
After installing the flat crash bar without screwd it, it was "bend-able" and I was disapointed. After screwing it, I pushed very hard but it almost didn't move.

The bad thing about the Sard wing is that it's curvy and do not fit the flat rear hood of the MR-S.
It fit better on a BRZ/GT86 rear hood because of their curvy hood design.

Some news here :

- replaced the steering wheel by 330mm. The hub is from Toyota Celica 1998 (modification needed to fit).
Steering requierd more force to turn, give quicker response and add feedback.

- reinforced the under chassis by installing Roadney Racing under brace (made in France).
The chassis is stiffer, especially on bumpy roads, LSD engagement is smoother. Doors closing is slightly better.

- replaced the factory bulbs by red LED bulbs (bought in Canada). Seller checked fitting before sending the right LED bulbs.
Lighting night is a huge improvment (even on lighter setting). On sunny day, the higher light is helpfull to see the tachometer.

- took time to repaint tires letters in yellow and putting reflective tape on the side of the OZ wheels and rear crash bar.
Reflective tape are illuminated by direct AND indirect light. Most product are "direct light" only. Small thing but expensive.

- bought an extremly/expensive rare front hood from Japan. I could buy another MR-S in bad shape for the price.
Fitting is very good and quality without reworking on the fiber is almost excellent level (~20% lighter than OEM).

I've bought a Amuse R1 Extra Titan exhaust.
It's a street legal muffler that weight 3,85kg (packagging with muffler weight 4,11kg).
I like the sound from exterior (come from exhaust tip), but in car it sound different (come from the muffler).
Titanium exhaust smell too, I'm not kidding. It's like weld smell but smooth until it smell "fine" to the noise.

There is no drone. From exterior, anyone can hear that this is not factory because of more decibel.
It's enoughly quiet to drive without annoying sleepping people at midnight.

Compare to my Malian, the Amuse add instant throttle response and more torque.
This is not a placebo effect. I could really felt it in the seat and on rainy road.
I could hit far less pedal gas to make moving the car.

I removed it and re-intalled the Malian Race exhaust.
The Amuse is too quiet for me so it's for sale.

I bought a Zero Exhaust header + sport cat. The brand is based in UK.
Good product sold with almost anything except of the exhaust header gasket. Welds are good.
I asked to have two more bungs > AFR sensor and for the O² sensor in case I would keeping linked O² sensor.
Zero Exhaust is not installed yet.

I replaced the caoutchouc front splitter by a Subaru Impreza STi 2007 front lip and Corvette Z07 side winglets.
Requiert 5~6 hours of work to make it fit. Do not use it with a very lowered MR-S. It will break at the first small bump.
My MR-S is not that lowered, but I broken the front lip at the house exit. Now I have to be more careful.
I bought a AMUSE extra rare and in excellent shape 4-2 true equal length header.
