Sun / UV rays affect plastic differently then steel.. you could probably restore it with polishes and wax

I noticed the same thing about my car, turned out it was repainted. The badly dented but not replaced bumper beam was a dead giveaway.

I was thinking about paying to get it resprayed. It has a lot of rock chips, scratches, and other unexplainable things done to it.

FYI... my bumper had that same exact crack in that same exact spot - only on both sides, to make matters worse. Opposite this crack is a “clip” as it were, and it helps keep the bumper affixed and stabilized. Since this is a stress area, incidentally, the whole “clip” will eventually break off, and this crack precedes this event.

If I were you I would strongly recommend using some type of crystal clear Crazy Glue or epoxy to keep this piece in place, because once the piece separates and flies away, it’s quite unsightly.
