This came on an engine I bought from someone on the board that had it installed in a Spyder. I was told it came from a 2004 Matrix with about 20k miles. It already has the LR shift shaft mod done. Asking $1000.

Rande,
Could you take a picture of the backside of the trans where the shift linkage would normally be on the 6 speed?

Thanks,

Elliott
Did you check the link to other pictures? Are any of those what you are looking for?

Actually I know it's neither, but do you know the ratios?
1- 3.166
2- 2.050
3- 1.481
4- 1.166
5- 0.916
6- 0.725

I'm looking for a better highway gear ..... with this info, and knowing the FD on this is expected to be 4.53, what rpm would I be seeing at 80 mph ( since this is what is normally used for comparison)

mwr 3.9 6speed
1st: 3.166 38.5 mph @7,000 rpm
2nd: 1.904 64mph
3rd: 1.310 93mph
4th: 0.969 125.8 mph
5th: 0.815 149.6 mph
6th: 0.725 168.2 mph
FD: 3.941

celica or matrix 6speed with 3.9 final drive instead of stock 4.5
1st: 3.166 38.5mph
2nd: 2.050 59.5mph
3rd: 1.481 82.3mph
4th: 1.166 104.5mph
5th: 0.916 133.1mph
6th: 0.725 168.2mph
FD: 3.941 instead of 4.529

stock 5speed
1st: 3.166 35.2mph
2nd: 1.904 58.5mph
3rd: 1.392 80mph
4th: 1.031 108mph
5th: 0.815 136.7mph
FD: 4.312

Will this trans give me the 3100rpm i'm looking for, or is that only in a 3.941 FD application?
Sorry for the questions, I am trying to learn here....

The 3.9 will get you at ~3100 rpm at 80 mph. The celica / matrix 6 sp roughly 3600 rpms at 80mph.

would this be a ready to be installed/direct swap from the stock tranny?
It should bolt right up. It was mounted to a 1zz when I got it. I just unbolted it and installed the transmisison that I already had. Nothing wrong with it. I already had 5-speed with LSD that I used.

so it has the shift shaft done to it, does it have reverse lockout too?

either way, awfully tempting.

Just the shaft, as far as I know.

I'd be careful dealing with rande. The rest of you may find his cordial to deal with, but my interactions were far from that. Any other member on here can attest to the fact that when I have bought something I had either a) paid right away or b) when needing to arrange freight provided a holding payment.

I sent rande a message on his trans and made him an initial offer. ($700 plus my brand new unopened MWR selector shaft and covering his Paypal fees.)

He responded with his best price was $1000 shipped. I told him thanks I'll pass as I was more interested in an engine + transmission package.

The item sat for several weeks and I noticed he was asking for offers. To me taking offers means a person is more inclined to sell an item and has room for negotiations.

I told him $800 and I'd cover all his fees. To which he responded: "That's 20% off and I'll take $1000 shipped. Besides, I got lots of buyers lined up and if it doesn't sell I'm not worried." If you had lots of buyers then your item would be long sold. And if you didn't need to sell it then don't ask for offers.

I told him I'd give him $850 with fees covered and he proceeded to ignore my messages.

Sorry rande, please learn how to sell an item and communicate better. If you don't need to sell it then don't list the thing. I've spent $5000+ in the last 4 weeks with various SC members and none of them were as uncompromising and arrogant as you.

Wow. So you wan't to take this public? I didn't make any personal attacks of you. I kept everything in PM and didn't make any disparaging remarks of you. We couldn't come to an agreement on price so you get upset and post a personal attack.

I originally asked $1000 plus shipping and you only offered $700 + the shaft shipped. I didn't need the shaft so I told you I wouldn't take that offer. I made a counter-offer which you turned down. No hard feelings, we just couldn't come to an agreement on price. You later increased your offer slightly but I had already told you what my price would be.

Yes, I ignored your messages. You kept making the same offer again several times and I had already told you I wouldn't accept that offer. There was nothing more to respond to.

So you are saying that just because I won't sell to you for your offer that means I don't know how to sell and that makes me arrogant. I communicated my point very clearly. I wouldn't accept your offer.
