Hello all- just picked up yellow ‘03 spyder. Little high on miles, taking care of basic maintenance now. Ran into my first hiccup last night, battery light came on. Hopefully it’s just something simple.Looking to learn more about the car here and turn into fun project. Any local groups to meet up?Thanks

Best way to learn about the car is to download a copy of the factory shop manual

As he said.
If you're actually within Seattle itself and you don't wanna buy a copy of an '03 manuals for yourself, I've got my own copies for the '03 that I'd be willing to let you borrow if you need.

Too bad my Silver Spyder is in the shop right now. Would be down to organize a meetup with other owners in the area.

I'm near Capitol Hill. '03 SMT. I'd be up for a meetup sometime too.

BTW, anyone here driving a red pre-facelift version with a large spoiler, over by U Village last weekend? Spotted in the QFC parking lot with the top down, but no driver to be found.

So battery light you say. Mine came on and it was two different issues. 1st was the stock battery positive wire clamp end was not tight. You have to loosen the clamp with a 10mm and once it’s slightly loose on the battery terminal you apply pressure downward with one hand while tightening the nut with the other. Then try to move end clamp on the terminal by trying to rotate it. If it is tight your good . 2nd issues was the battery hold down was loose allowing the positive cable to make contact withe the strut tower and ground the cable. Made it tight and the light when away . Last thing is your alternator and thats On the engine between the motor and the firewall, down low.

Nope had car tested the alternator voltage regulator error. So Alternator was just replaced. All good now
