Florida
~$30-38 per month
0 (in the last 10 years)
3 (speeding, in the last 3 years)

I'm 11 years older than you, and my wife and I share the same policy, so I don't imagine the numbers are going to help you any

Alabama
175-200/month (I don't know the exact figure)
2 tickets (neither on record)
1 accident (not my fault on older car)
2 comprehensive claims (not in car either time it happened)
Good student discount
Multi-line discount (our family's house insurance and life insurance is through the same company)

EDIT - I do have full coverage and a $500 deductible

Insurance is the worst form of robbery on the planet. Only in today's world does insurance bump up their premiums for doing what they were supposed to do with the premium you were paying before. Ex. (not my exact situation, but illustrates the point):

Paying $100 per month for full coverage
Car hits me while I am NOT EVEN IN THE dman™ SPYDER
Pay $500 deductable for repair
Car repaired
(Here is the kicker)
Paying $150 per month for full coverage

Why in the world did my monthly go up? It wasn't my fault and I was paying for the service before it even happened. That is what insurance is, paying for an unforseen issue before it happens. Why oh why do I get stuck with jacked up premium for THEM DOING WHAT I WAS PAYING THEM FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE!?

rant over

Full Coverage. 100/300/50 for liability. Collision is ACV* less $500.00 deductible. Comp is ACV* less $50.00 ded. Plus in this state we have to pay for Personal Injury protection and Underinsured Motorists insurance.
*Actual Cash Value

how's about this for being ripped:

25 years old
good ol' New Jersey
$262/month
2 accidents in old MR2 (2nd one totaled it. i was rear ended in both. Yay for collection)
0 tickets

was wonderin' what others in NJ were paying as i've always felt mine was a bit high..too bad all I have is State Farm. Geico just moved in but their quote was higher than what i'm paying now. Obviously those "you could save 15% or more" commercials don't apply to me :?

oh believe me i know, i've been paying that since jan. but i love my car and i kinda tried to sell it, but, that only lasted 2months and then i got the insurance figured into my budget, by putting in 10 hrs of overtime almost every week

. hopefully itll be cheaper now, i have to renew in jan.

just for the record, i was paying 187/month before state farm dropped me and i had go through maif.

insurance

49
No moving yiolations in over 20 years, no accidents in over 20 years
Full coverage $250 deductable
Share with wife no moving violations or accidents in 20 years
Tied in with 2 cars, 1 pickup, house, boat, 2 bikes, personal umbrella, and 2 side businesses
$350 per year
Tieing everything together lowers them all. I put the insurance out for bids from 5 or 6 companies every 2 or 3 years.

insurance

Insurance is a business. If they don't make money they go out of business. if they charge too much no one buys from them they go out of business. They have a large database to base their rates on. age, location sex, martial status, type of car, and probably a bunch more I wouldn't know. Put yourinsurance up for bid to a bunch of different companies. 75% of the bids will be within 10% of each other. At least thats been my experance over the last 20 years. Also check the ratings of the companys. It's online at a number of places.
If you ever have an accident without insurance and you're not rich you'll never get out from under the debt incured.

Sorry for the rant but I've had a family member have an accident between insurance coverage and it took almost 10 years for him to pay it off. He almost went bankrupt at 40years old. It took all his spare earnings for 10 years no vactions, no new car, no house, no new nothing.

My insurance is still higher than normal because I had my old pickup totaled IN MY DRIVEWAY! A drunk came off the road, crossed my whole yard and hit the back, spinning it around. The car went on to hit the house next door, just missing the gas and electric meters. No one claimed I was at fault, and the drunk was taken away in handcuffs, but I still have to pay more.

Insurance companies count claims for which you were at fault, and for which you were not separately, but they do count both.
