Using the search button I found that you should machine the flywheel when you change to a Spec clutch. Can someone please tell me a little bit more about what are meant by that? Would also be very thankfull if someone have other tips regarding changing clutch.

The contact surface of the flywheel needs to be machined flat again. Slipping clutches cause heat. Heat causes metal to move. Repeat this enough and the metal gets moved enough to loose contact over a large percentage of the flywheel to clutch surface. Take the flywheel off and send it to a machine shop and have it surfaced.

Get new flywheel bolts from toyota.

Flywheel resurfacing is required.

If your referring to machining a .17" step - I didnt have that done on mine. Nor was a longer actuater rod needed.

That was all of 7,000 miles ago maybe it'll all fly to hell tomorrow!

When you remove your flywheel, its going to be easy.... when you reinstall it, its goin to be a BITCH! You have to make sure you do it to toyota specs. Its 49ftlbs then 1/4 turn tighter with a wrench (i believe). Its a PITA! you really gotta hold that motor from spinning!

good luck

Thanks a lot. The clutch it's out. The surface at the flywheel looks flat, but less than 0,1mm difference at the flywheel surface (find it in the official Toyota repair manual) is so little that you probably can't see or feel it. I'll check to see if I can find someone to machine it anyway, to be on the safe side.

Then the turbo install can begin
