I ended up buying the antigravity lithium battery with restart technology, it comes in Monday. $200 after rewards points on Amazon from an independent seller. Sure wish it was cheaper on a website instead. Atx12-hd-rs

My Scorpion battery has been going strong. I think a lot of it has to do with the Ctek charger which is floating it and then it will pulse charge it after 10 days. I would have gone though two Deka batteries at this point in time.
I have a feeling more batteries like the Anti gravity will be the norm moving forward.

Finished up install yesterday, not sure if I want to cut the stock upright quite yet. I don't believe my car came with a tray either, lots of battery acid damage from the battery I got with the car.

Mine are going strong with just daily driving, no external charging and no driving the spyder while on vacation.

I've had one for just over 3 months now, mostly DD. Until recently the most it sat was 4 days. Started just fine. Over the Christmas/new years holiday it sat for 15 days, battery was dead flat when I got to it. I also leave my Bluetooth OBD adapter in the car full time, which I know draws some power, so YMMV.

I will be finishing up a custom fit aluminum battery tray using the three OEM mounts this evening. We are about to receive some very cold weather (maybe 10 degrees) for our location so I will test start with my batteries early in the morning on that day.

Did the 'Restart' feature worked with the dead battery? <img src="https://www.spyderchat.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.png" border="0" alt="" title=":)" class="inlineimg" />
Unfortunately I completely forgot that feature existed... It probably would have because I put it on a trickle charger for about 20 minutes and it cranked the car over like normal

I think you did the right thing in this situation. The good thing about this kind of battery is the ability for it to disconnect before it gets damaged. The start feature is good to have in an emergency but the battery will still be depleted so the high amp charge might damage it some. Having it charged with lower amps until it’s up to capacity is better.

I've killed my new battery at least 3 times with the BlueTooth adapter...the Restart button works every time. ;)
Thats great to hear. I knew this battery would be the way to go forward.
They just need to make a higher capacity or lower the price.

It was 14 degrees this morning when I went to start the spyder. The spyder was outside overnight as always. Startup was slow but good, better than the Tacoma. I am using two different LifePo4 batteries with a combined advertised CCA of about 900. It was brisk for me with the wind cutting right through. I would make a poor northerner.

It's "cold" here in South Texas. Low 30s the last few mornings. Cranking is noticably slower but it's still getting the job done.

Glad to hear that! Might give it a try next time.

The antigravity battery I got lasts maybe 2-3 days before it shuts itself off. That's a pretty bad reserve but at least it shuts itself down. I've only let it do it twice so far. Not fun keeping it on a tender at the house.

Slow cranking when cold, but haven't had it fail to start yet.

I finally let me car sit too long in the cold for it not to turn over. I think it was about a weeks time. I jumped it with another car and let it idle/rev for about a half hour or so. Hopefully it didn''t get damaged too much.

do you need a special tender for lithium batteries? can you jump it like a normal battery?
You can jump it like a normal battery in an emergency. I don't know what kind of effect it can have in terms of damaging it but as we have already seen these batteries do get damaged if you are not on top of them as far as not letting them discharge.
Thats why I don't recommend them as a replacement to lead acid for normal operation as we have already seen some that were ruined by user error which is a costly mistake.

However this new Antigravity lithium ion battery has the ability to disconnect before it gets discharged and so far it seems to be proven in its ability to save its self.

Having said that I don't think the Antigravity battery should be taken for granted by just letting it shut down as its intended for an emergency and not a feature so you can be lazy. But for testing purposes the more mistakes people make the better it is to know how they hold up.

I like having my battery connected using a battery tender when not in use so its at the optimum charge for longevity. Right now my charger has entered its pulse charge mode profile for storage which should optimize it for longevity.
