Well. It's finaly time to revisit the 2zz smt swap. Looking for a car with a dead smt system.

Good to hear.
Just be aware that the quality of 2ZZ swaps has significantly declined in your absence. Many subpar swaps with various problems.
I still have your original swap kit, which is of high quality and is holding up well. However, I can’t say the same for the reproductions, especially one I saw where the oil tube was not manufactured correctly.

That's going to require an interesting piggyback. But I have always wondered if the SMT shifts differently when the OEM ECU is in limp mode. This should theoretically work with a very simple piggyback.
i had one running and driving. It would just clutch kick at the 1zz rev limit in each gear one time. then it learned how not to do that. The owner's wife ran out of patience and pulled the plug on the project. I used a heavy clutch and light flywheel. it would bark the tires when it hit second. so it was a good combo but still had opportunities.
