Hi

I'm looking at a 2007 MR2 Syder at my local dealer. It my first ride and I'd like to get more information and experiencehere.

The engine sounds like it need more work to be done because it's has a clicking sound and I'm pretty sure that's not how an engine sounds. Anyway I'm contemplating if I go for a new engine or just fix the problem.

I'd also want to change the interior to black. The seats are worn out and I'll possibly need to change dashboard since it's color is faded

What are your suggestions?. What should I put into consideration before I make the purchase?

Must be well used....and faded dash too....

Changing the dashboard is pretty extreme. Plus a replacement dashboard is going to be 20 years old. Maybe look at covering with some vinyl. Prices for a tired spyder with a blown/knocking engine USED to be about $1500-$2000. Of course recently with stupid prices I see raggedy spyders asking $5000-$6000. I don't know if they are actually getting that much money. However decent spyders are available for $8000-$10,000. Depending on the asking price - I'd shop for a spyder in better condition.

Heat gun, pry tool, flathead screw driver, and..a lotta work. Probably should wear a mask too. The glue from the carbon fiber trim in my car seemed to have trapped smells from the past 20 years and however many owners my car had. If I had a hound, he could probably track down each owner.

Yes it’s well used and finding the dash bored is hard. I haven’t heard back from my dealer though but I’ll post pictures once i do.
