No 3rd and 4th gear
Car drives good, will not get 3 or 4 gear. At the right speeds I can get 5 and 6. Any ideas of what the problem might be? SMT.

Yes. The red gear light is the SMT system error light. If it’s illuminated you will have a logged error code in the TCU. The only way to read the codes is with a copy of techstream software, and a J2534 cable ($45 at amazon)is that the little gear light?
no,, the gear light is not on. It came on about a year ago and the car wouldn’t move, I let it set for awhile and it never came on again. I was also missing 3 and 4 gear at that timeis that the little gear light?
Will it shift into 3 and four using the steering wheel switches? Using the floor shifter? Meh, never mind that doesn’t make sense. I wonder if a solenoid could be leaking or sticking? I’m struggling to think what would cause this.
It does the same thing with the steering wheel.
