at this point my car is primmered, and i'm ready to paint my car. my car was 202 black and love the color. But i've noticed that lexus has a new black 212. it looks like a more mirrored black. looks real sleeek. question is. should i go with toyota 202( black onyx) or lexus 212(obsidian)

Of course, it's your car and you need to do what you like. But on the other hand a different color then a stock color could hurt resale if you ever decide to sale. I however don't think it would hurt the resale as much because there aren't much difference in the black colors.

^^^ lol. exactly how i'm going through right now. i think i'm gonna go to some dealerships and check out some black color. Bmw has a very nice black. " jet black" they call it.
* But the idea with the clear coat is quite an idea.

What shop is painting it? Aren't you in Oahu like me?
yeah i'm on oahu. my friend is gonna spray it. he has like a ware house.

as for the gray flakes. it reminds me of my sr5 corolla that had them. i think i'd stick with the pure black. but it sure looks good on your car.

If you talk to an independent auto paint supplier, I believe they will tell you that for the most part, black is black. They interchange OEM paints sometimes, because it is basically the same between manufacturers.
