Of course, it's your car and you need to do what you like. But on the other hand a different color then a stock color could hurt resale if you ever decide to sale. I however don't think it would hurt the resale as much because there aren't much difference in the black colors.

^^^ lol. exactly how i'm going through right now. i think i'm gonna go to some dealerships and check out some black color. Bmw has a very nice black. " jet black" they call it.
* But the idea with the clear coat is quite an idea.

If you talk to an independent auto paint supplier, I believe they will tell you that for the most part, black is black. They interchange OEM paints sometimes, because it is basically the same between manufacturers.
