I wouldn't try to color match, it’ll be off and something you’ll always notice. Why not a repaint? Surely it’s not much for just the top.

Im not aiming for perfect... Nothing's gonna match "Texas faded 1D0" but I will say the swatch looked even closer to accurate in person than the pictures show.
Don't want to mar the near perfect factory paint with a respray. Would rather keep it wrapped up for now and have the opportunity to trade a red top for a color I desire in the future. In the meantime, if I get bored with all silver I can always wrap it with something else!

Last color combo to consider, a dark silver top (dark enough to be known you're not color blind) with bright silver body might also look good...thinking something between 1e7 & slate/gunmetal grey.

I did consider the anthracite but leaned away from that dark for temperature reasons (same reason for refraining from black). Also really liked the brushed aluminum but wanted the grain to run up/down the car rather than sides/side... Cuts are only 60" wide and need at least 70" width for a seamless wrap so I ditched that idea. Went ahead and bit on 5'x15' of the gloss white aluminum. Should have plenty of extra, hoping to do the A pillar, small panel behind the top and deck lid with it. Even if minor mismatch doing the other top and horizontal panels should alleviate the eye.

I’ve seen people run a white top on silver car. If you get a close silver color, I’ll bet you’ll never think of it again. My real test for things like this is… see how many passengers ask “how come the top is a different color?”. I’ll bet it will be zero.

At least it'll be significantly less than if I kept it red!

Well if you’ve got the cash or credit, and don’t mind trying to flip your red top, just today I discovered a silver top for sale at Midship Garage… it’s still there as of this moment.

I’m a bit further south than you in Texas and have a black hardtop, it gets freaking hot inside the parked car and takes the a/c longer to cool down during the summer than my previous all white car. Granted I don’t have window tint, which surely would help, but I think another factor is the small interior volume that lends itself to heating faster/greater. It’s so bad that I’ve questioned whether the freon needs to be refilled, but after finally cooling down, I have to lower the fan speed or move the vents from pointing at me because my bare arms will get cold. Is it typical for cars with black roofs to get exceptionally hotter inside than lighter colored cars?

Thanks. I’m planning on finally tinting the windows this summer, and adding clear to the front. I haven’t decided on what percentage yet because I like an unhindered view at night, maybe I should just go with clear ceramic all the way around.

Wow, shipping was $1,000 when I bought mine in 2017, which felt incredibly expensive even then.

Yeah, thinking on it now, I don’t recall the interior temperature even getting this hot with the tan convertible top. It literally feels like the a/c isn’t working for the first 5-10 minutes, and even after the interior cools down I can’t have the fan speed on low because it’ll get too hot.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy your top.
