Not sure if this this is the right area to post this in, but I was thinking of planning a personal roadtrip for me and my son in the not too distant future.

I was thinking of just running River Road from down here in Louisiana all the way up until we can get to a point to drive through the mississippi in a spyder.

So I have a few questions...
1)Where would this point be
2) is River Road still a pleasant, curvy drive once it breaks out of Louisiana?
3)Any suggestions as far as food and lodging that isn't a chain?

I've got one. I grew up about a mile from the river near St Louis. And I lived in Little Rock, Arkansas for awhile. From where you live, it is a no-brainer... spend your time raging around on some of the INCREDIBLE roads in the Ouachita and Ozark Mountains of Arkansas!

Oh, and no... the river valley is pretty boring by comparsion...

You may encounter flooding and loss of steering if you attempt this.
