Don't waste your time with a style bar.

A cage is overkill.

Search for a Hard Dog - they come up for sale and are usually gone in a flash but they do exist. Hard Dog will actually make one for you even though they are not in regular production. It took me a couple of years to finally get a used one because I was too slow on the trigger.

Harddog is a fair choice, but probably equally as expensive than a custom bar fabbed and welded by a shop, after labor for install is considered.

Ir you are running any organized events, they will tell you what you need. Most style bars won't make it. Autopower makes a street roll bar that is more than a style bar but not a full cage or as extensive as a hard dog. It works with the stock convertable top and storage bins. It is a pretty solid mount. No idea on current price, but you can check with distributors listed

You still have storage space, but the bin doors have to come off.

This last photo is obviously the passenger side, same thing on the other side behind the battery. It's a pretty involved job to install this thing, super glad I didn't try it myself.

A comparable custom rollbar/cage in my area is $1500-$2000. The problem is that the guy that does it (and has done other spyders) is constantly booked. I've been chasing an appointment with him for the last 3 years.

I picked up a HardDog from twosrus online, single diagonal was $960 with shipping, made to order. Took about 4 weeks from order to arrival.

The doors have to come off. However, you don't lose too much space, just have to be creative how you stuff things in there... and it remains visible

With the single diagonal Hard Dog, I have the entirety of the driver side storage, minus the door. On the passenger side I have a tiny bit less, as I have added a fuse/relay panel there in order to have more power sources for accessories while eliminating the need to go back through the firewall for more wires.
