And these are supposed "Car Enthusiast", destroying a car..................Scheesh!
There is something wrong with the lady and even more wrong with the Husband. They don't seem like practical people and could have put their life in danger.
It's almost like they have no situational awareness and it wouldn't surprise me if it was avoidable by turning around at the first sign of trouble or to keep moving.
It's like those people that try to take selfies with dangerous wild animals.

Reddit stated that prior to this the crowd told the driver to turn around but she proceeded anyway. It is insane that she got out of the car in the first place.

Lesson for all of us. If there is a mob, go somewhere else. Never drive through a parade of stupidity.

I was just about to post that. After watching the video a young lady said she told her to turn around but she did not listen therefore she got what she deserved from a practical point of view not from a lawful one. If you decide to be an entitled idealist where there is chaos then you are stupid. They have absolutely no concept of being street smart.
I have dodged two DUI check points long ago where as my friends would just driven right into them without being aware.
While I agree they should have gone around (if possible, no clue what the roads are like there, though I'd also find it pretty odd for a mob to be congregating in a dead end, so that's unlikely), none of that destruction was justified. There's a GoFundMe set up to help them fix (or replace) their MR2. They've already raised more than $10k. The link to that is in various MR2 Facebook groups. If people can't find it I can add it to this thread if desired.

Anyone have a link to the reddit post? I searched but no luck.
Here is an interview of the couple.
What happened to them is not justified but I think if the couple wanted to help others in a situation like this is to advise them to turn around as they were instructed to as this seems like the real story of why their car was damaged because they angered the mob by defying their instructions.

Angry mob would equal a pile of previously angry dead bodies if that were my car.

That being said, don't drive into a mob of people.

One thing here is the fact is some dude is using the roof like a trampoline. I am astounded it did not collapse. As least as with I can tell.
This is scary… especially considering this happened only about an hour from where I live. I agree with what others on here have stated. She should have turned around. If she wanted to do something about these people she should have called the authorities after getting a safe distance away from these people. I did happen to catch on the news that one of the organizers of this “event” got arrested the next day. Im sure that it won’t take too much effort from law enforcement to figure out who else was there and make additional arrests. The thing that amazes me is that these people will make videos and post them on social media of themselves doing incriminating things such as this… At least it makes it easier for the cops to figure out who to get the arrest warrants for! 🤣
Stupid is as stupid does, videoing internet idiots!
I thought the hoodie dude's messaging on his sweatshirt was very appropriate! /s

I've seen this USA road in France TV.

First reason of this violence come from peoples doing burnout/run etc on this road during Friday/saturday/Sunday nights. After years, peoples get killed because of the bad drivig. Peoples living around this road get pissed off of being afraid of their children getting hit/killed by a car at night. Second reason is because of the new Fast&Furious 9 movie that make people living around tis road more angry, claiming that F&F9 movie do promote the bad way of driving.

On an other street, there is a scene of F&F9 doing chase scene. And peoples living around this street are scared of peoples that potentially will do the same thing. So they did doing manifestation against F&F movie, arguing that the movie should be removed of cinemas because of promoting the bad driving.

Using F&F9 is just a way of making a bigger "buzz". In result, this is a wrong relation between fatals crashs and F&F9 which is just a movie. If there was a "legit" link between F&F franchise and car fatals crashs, why they did not doing manifestations during previous F&F movies?
