CeeDap, does that mean that you need 10 more people on the BP list before you begin construction?

No - I am going to build 20 more Breastplates, and I expect to carry some of these in inventory until they sell out.

The MSMBs and RMBs will go out for powder coating after we come back from the 4th of July holiday. The FMBs will follow about a week after.

How big of a difference does the brest plate makes in overall rigidness and reducing squeaks? does the ride become smoother?
I noticed after I installed my BP that I had some extra rattles but no shake, and a whole lot more knowledge of where the limit of the car was around the bends. No more surprises of chassis flex, and I can go over the nasty roads Texas has for us without feeling like the cars about to snap in half.

So yes, rigidness is greatly improved
Squeaks, need to be taken care of by you. My car still rattles like crazy <_< but at least it doesn't feel like a toy anymore

When I was playing around with the first couple of designs for the BP, I noticed that what ever I bolted on would reduce both the rattles, and squeaks. Some designs worked better, and not so better. With the final design I found provided the stiffest feel to the car.
You may have heatshields that may have started to loosing up due to the stiffer ride.

There is still one FMB that isn't sold.

All of the braces are ready to out for powdercoating, except for the BPs, those will be finished up in a couple of weeks. Once the coater lets me know when the braces will be finished I'll start issuing invoices thru Paypal, and will expect payment at that time.

Thanks again for all of the support.

My experience was different. I ended up with fewer rattles and squeaks -well, except from passengers during high-G corners- I suppose due to greater rigidity and less chassis flex.
The car feels more stable and more "planted" on rough surfaces and those high-G corners.

AGH!!! Am I too late for a MSMB? I've been wanting to upgrade from my BP for years now.

FMB is not compatible with 04+ right? If it is compatible, I'll take one of them as well. I thought there was a post somewhere saying it wasn't needed, but.. I feel like I want something to tie the front low end together.

edit: MR2Dave/Corky: I'd be willing to have our stuff shipped together, if you want to meet up. I imagine shipping is expensive as hell for Corky. I'm in El Dorado Hills, and drive along 80 between Roseville and Grass Valley every other week.

Corky: Would it help if I shipped my BP in for upgrade to MSMB? It's uncoated, if that matters.

I can put you on the list as a standby. If somone backs out whomever is next in would have the chance to purchase.

There is no sense in fitting my FMB onto the '04s with the factory supports.

Thanks for the offer to use your BP, we may talk later, but right now let it sit and see what happens.

I can combine shipments, but I'd have to see if everything would fit in one box, if not than it's not worth the effort money wise.

Thanks
Corky

What is the suggested sequence to get for most of you ? I have the following bracing pieceinstalled on my 2000 spyder. What is my next logical piece to get for further improvement ? Of course, it would be nice to buy all the pieces if I won the lottery !

Thanks !

Sounds good. Please do add me to the wait list for now, and if that doesn't work out I'm up for BP->MSMB upgrade if you are.

I figured I'd offer combined ship in case it would save you (or us) cash. NBD if that's not the case.

Ultra Racing makes a front lower brace that replaces some of the tubular OEM stuff on '04-'05 cars: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ULTRA-RACIN...t=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a1bd9ef47&vxp=mtr#ht_4482wt_1396. I'm not aware of any other mfgr who makes the part - Corky's wouldn't fit if you wanted to. The MX5 people say they feel a difference in aftermarket FSTBs vs. OEM tubular FSTBs.
Thanks for the tip. Totally forgot about UR.

Okay, someone back out! :^)

I'm really, REALLY hoping someone decides to back out on the MSMB list. I want one very, very badly. But if no one does, you DO have me down for one of the BPs instead, right, Corky? Getting very excited about putting this stuff on. B)

I am hoping that the powdercoater can finish these up by mid next week, 'cause I don't want to call him and have to shake my finger at 'em
