I purchased a mrs for 800.00 bux running but the stm is garbage. It was rebuilt twice by the previous owner. I dont what that hassle in the future. I want to convert to manual and get rid of it. I have a spare 6spd celica transmission. My question is what parts are needed? It is an 03. Can the 00-02 parts interchange? I recall the 03 is drive by wire and the 00-02 is cable. Correct?

My list is as follows:
Pedals
Brake reservior
Clutch cylinder
Clutch hardline
Ecu
Engine harness
Shifter base and cables

Do i need to swap dash harnesses due to the clutch sensor? Please let me know if Im missing anything.

Im just not sure the condition on the trans. The car runs but it wont go when you step on the gas. The trans light is on. I have a spare celica 6speed trans I can use for the time being. I actually plan on swapping in a different motor more than likely a gen4 3sgte.

The monkey wrench wiring changes what? The imobilizer?

You do not need the manual gauge cluster. The SMT cluster will still have the gear indicators, but they will be disconnected. Same with the shift buttons on the steering wheel. You only need the cluster and the steering wheel if you want to make the car pass as an OE manual. I have a car with a MWR 6-speed SMT to manual conversion done by the previous owner, and I can say that it shifts wonderfully. The most fun car that I have ever had.

The manual ECU that came with the MWR kit is not immobilized, and it works with cheap metal keys.
