Hey Gang,

My clutch started slipping a bit on engaging this winter. Once it warms up there are no issues and now that it is warmer it seems to happen less and only first thing in the morning. But having said that I am sure my clutch is starting to go.

Does that mean I need to replace the clutch plates?
What would Toyota charge for that"
What would a 'normal' local garage charge for that?
How much are the parts for a clutch rebuild?
Is it a complicated repair?
Any recommendations for shops near Greenville SC or Asheville NC?

Thanks in advance everyone.

With the cost of labor, it's best to do the whole clutch while you're in there.
- resurface the flywheel
- replace clutch disc, pressure plate and throwout bearing

As long as you don't have the SMT shifter, it should be a simple job for any shop that's ever worked on a Toyota Corolla. Check 1sttoyotaparts.com for good prices on dealer parts.
I don't know what good labor rates run.
