i've heard bad things about this on this forum.
i'd like to post a contrary opinion.
Heading back from the Dragon Friday nite i noticed the needle heading up above the normal range.
i opened the windows, turned the heater on full blast, shifted into neutral and was able to get to an exit off I-40. it was dark and we were unable to locate the leak but added water and was able to make the next 30-40 miles on into Memphis.
in the morning solved the leak problem [ loose hose clamp] added a little more water and drove another 400 miles back to OK.
i credit the temperature gauge for saving my engine:wub:
