A phone list isn't a bad idea but I don't really put much faith in RSVPing for a meet. Not everyone shows up thats says they will and the group ends up waiting around. I also don't like publishing the route on the internet, call me paranoid but I'd rather err on the side of caution.
Just some things to know:
1. This isn't a race, it's a cruise, so please leave the showboating at home. I've been on cruises that have had accidents and others where APBs were put out on the group. Not exactly stuff you want to happen. The speeds will be brisk but nothing crazy. Please, please PLEASE, give proper distance between cars!
2. Show up with a full tank of gas.
3. Bring a walkie talkie if you have one.
4. I don't wait for stragglers, meaning if you can't show up to the meeting place on time or have the decency to let me know how far out you are then you might want to stay home. It's not fair to the group to wait for one or two people. I'll PM anyone my Cell number if they need it.
5. Some of the roads we'll be on don't have real good cell reception, plan on that.
6. Depending on if we go to Cooper's or The Saltlick be aware that The Saltlick doesn't take credit cards and doesn't split the bill... I'm hesitant to even take a large group there anymore because someone (me) almost always get stiffed with the bill.
7. These things are FUN you'll see some of the best of what Hill Country has to offer and enjoy some GOOD BBQ.
p.s. If anyone needs a place to crash I've got a spare bedroom and plenty of floor space as long as you can put up with my 80lbs Boxer
