My car is almost painted and I will post it in a week when it is finished, that is if they are ever finished. My creampuff is now a 2zz widebody trd car. Went from this stock car to the kit off the maroon car. I had the widebody professionally installed so I hope it comes out nice. Lee

sorry for late reply and many thanks for the suggestion, I will do just got to work on the headlights and front opening
needs to be way smaller also incorporate turn signals, driving lights and some air towards front brakes etc.
Also need to rethink the rear end I had planned for something clean and able to draw hot air away from bay

Can anyone show me a path to good body kits? All these posts are pretty old and some sites have gone and new sites must have started. I'm thinking of adding skirt kits or go for full bumpers replacement kits. My budget is no more than $1500, so pretty limited. I will have to paint the car later too. I really like Ferrari replica kits, but they seem too much $$.

I've seen Andy's Auto and CarID, is there any other body style that I may have to save $$ for? I'm open to different style, but I do like the APR aero body kit, I think the price is around 3k. I also have black car, not a red one. No one seems to have extreme kits on a black car, mostly custom painted.
Any pointers will be helpful!

thx.

I think the consensus is that regardless of which kit you get you'll have to do some fine tuning to get it to fit perfectly. Wide body kits are nice, but they cost a lot and to make it look right requires more money. Many on here are ok with just the TRD lip kit (stage 1) as it is fairly subtle and doesn't scream "LOOK AT ME!!!"

A quick Google search will probably show you all and any of the kits available that you can get and as for a specific vendor for a quality kit seems to be a hit or miss with everyone. Some have had good luck with Seibon, Vis, and casual Ebay parts while others haven't. MidshipGarage is currently a vendor of kits, but they are in Russia and from other posts the quality seems to vary. LuxuryPart still has an active website, but they are also overseas (Thailand) and there is a long lead time on them also along with quality variances.

It's hard to go wrong with an APR ... one of my favorite kits . There's the Modelo on Ebay for $1200 but the fitment is bad . And I've also started looking for the ferrari Body kit .... I think there's a company still making them but they're in the UK and probably 10k to get one to the States . Here's a couple links .

Thanks for the info, 2ndmrs and phattires!

I guess it would be hit or miss as you say. I would be willing to spend the time to make it look right (not sure about the money part). Ferrari kit looks awesome, but all the parts seems to be over 7K BP or near 11K usd. Same for the luxurypart. I've never dealt with anyone from Thailand, not that I don't trust them, I just don't expect a lot from any vendor.

Thanks for the pic! There's just isn't much examples of black car (that I've searched). I'm also thinking repaint to a different color...

EDIT: This seems to be really cool example. I had black cars for more than 10 years, It's hard to keep it clean like in the photo (especially in AZ, need to cover it for dust)

I think you know better than I that others cars tend to accelerate harder than normal when you are next to them. I get this at least once a day (and I just have stock 1zz). I do like to accelerate moderately though. My friends have normal and modified corvettes & audi R8, not sure how they deal with it. It must be annoying at least.

I also get lots of looks and people just wondering what it is. I also tend to park the car far from the store entrance (in open space), I don't want to get dings. AZ is notorious for that and the road rocks/ flying debris.

I would stress again! :biggrin-new:

Id love to do one Mk3 with this kind of look
that would only keep the doors and windscreen
front and rear to be complete flip / tilt or removable pieces
Maybe more classical headlights like old Jag, Lola or Prince GT

I find most of the kits are very full on without the timeless lines of old classics

A mix of 3 great Toyotas the 2000GT, 7 and 415s

combining the 60s toyota styles would require an artisan but most of the fibreglass body kit places are short of them
preferring rice which is not always nice
