Sharing my wheel/tire combo. Both of these sets came with the car:

Black Advanti Storm Black = 17x8 +35 offset 205/40/R17 (square set-up)
Gold Sparco Trofeo = 15x6 195/50R15 16x6.5 205/45R16 (bigger'n the back)

Local roads are fairly beat-up. Suspension is stock, a bit aged but not horribly so.

Ride quality on the Advanti's is rough with regular rubbing from the front-left. I swapped to the Sparcos, the ride quality is significantly better. I don't have to crawl over speed bumps or live in fear of potholes.

Visually I thought I'd prefer the murdered-out look of the Advanti's. But the Sparcos have grown on me. I wouldn't have picked the color, but it works.

What do you think?

QUOTE="rmeller, post: 2193891, member: 47345"] your 205s are having a hard time filling those 8" rims.

They are at that. Like pulling a sock over a watermelon. I'm sure plenty of people are running them, but 17x8 is just a little too much wheel for the front well.

Yeah, stretching the sidewall that far over is going to give you a very rough ride. I'm on 17x7.5's and the 205's they came with were a bit too narrow. 215/225 stagger works better and smooths it out a lot. Also helps to prevent rash if you accidentally graze a curb.
Great advice all around. I hadn't thought about the stretched sidewall and tightness.

Yikes! Are those the bronze painted Trofeos, or have they been painted yellow? I mean just because trofeo is Italian for trophy doesn’t mean they have to be as shiny as an Oscar statue. 😂
I'll have to dig out the paperwork to see if I have a paint description for the Trofeos. The paint quality is excellent, I'm sure they came bright and yellow like that from the factory. The PO hated that yellow and bought the black Advents.

I love bronze as a color, looks great with a black car and even better with a white one. One-of-these-days I may have to get them painted.
