I see they are on sale for 340 and was planning on doing something when the tranny goes in as my daughter is used to a loud deep exhaust from my TVR. How loud is it for those that have it? Will it po the neighbors and cops or is it someone acceptable? How is it on the highway? Is it better just to take the current one to an exhaust shop and have something welded in? If so what are the recommendations to make it deeper, not ricey?

This is on my car and it is pretty.... dog... gone.... LOUD,having a kinda "sport bike" sound, especially when you're on the throttle. I live in the country rarely going into town but when I do I take it very very easy.
So yours isn't the "track spec" either.. Good to know, Iwill probably stick with that one then. How much didyou need to cut the rear bumper to make it fit without hitting?
It was much to loud for me so I replaced it. Fitment was an issue and the twin pipes burned a significant double hump in the bottom of the "bumper". As I recall the bottom of the tailpipes where about even with the bottom of the plastic.
That seems to be where mine is, except the previous owner did a hack for clearance. Of the many things I have done and going to do it's low priority but I intend to smooth it out eventually.
I had one on a previous car. Mine didn't damage the bumper and didn't need any trimming. Perhaps they changed it over the years?
I can tell you that on mine one of the exhaust hangers broke and tore a hole in the exhaust pipe. Rather than deal with sending it back to get another replacement I went with a different exhaust. I thought the quality was a bit low and it had a tone at highway cruising that was garbage.
Anyone have any sound clips of this exhaust on with a stock car. Most videos I have seen have headers and cai or a combination of stuff other than stock. And this is the one with one or two mufflers on it as I think the one with two was discontinued
I have been running one with a double muffler for 6 years. It does not drone. The single muffler did. It was discontinued. There is one new currently on eBay for $199 free shipping. Now the bad. The packing and /or baffle in the muffler rattles after a couple of months. Every single one I've seen or heard does this. I did trim my bumper slightly. I also had to double rubber mount the left upper hanger to stabilize it. I zip tied the two rubbers so they would stay together. Top speed makes a resonator system that is extremely loud! I spoke to a guy that had one and he didn't recommend it. Feel free to message me.
Well ordered the resonator version. At least she won't be able to sneak home after curfew. We shall see if it is louder then my TVR which wouldn't be track legal anywhere they actually check noise levels. Didn't like the idea of loosing the packing out of the muffler. If it doesn't work out can just have an exhaust shop weld in a muffler I guess.
I had one on my n/a 2zz. It was loud. Honestly, sounded exactly like the videos of the Larini Lotus exhaust. Look up videos on the internet.
Check this out: skip to about 8:00. If you like that sound, the exhaust sounds about the same on the mr2. It does sound a little bit raspy but you'll get that with almost any N/A 4-cyl motor, however, some Ferraris and even the V10 M5 sounds the same with the raspiness.
I have this exhaust, the old one with double resonators and you need to cut your bumper, I used after market rubber hangers to mount it, it is not loud enough in my opinion as I can barley hear it with the windows up nut then again I was coming from a Supra before it, but it does sound way better than the stock one. I will get a TRD lip kit for the rear bumper when I decide to change exhausts which will cover the hole I cut.
