2005 Toyota MR2 Spyder Convertible in red with tan leather interior. This mid-engine roadster has 141,000 miles on the odometer and is in good condition expect for transmission (see disclosure). Has Sequential Manual Transmission (SMT). I am the original owner. Drove it out of the dealership showroom. It has been an absolute joy to drive. I find myself always smiling while driving it. Has a very slight dent from a bicycle bar hitting it. Has a few sots that could use a touch-up paint pen.
Features include:

1.8L 4-cylinder engine
6-speed manual transmission with sequential mode
Rear-wheel drive
Air conditioning and cruise control
Power windows and door locks
CD player
Alloy wheels
ABS brakes
Disclosure: Car has been to a Toyota dealership for engine mechanical concern and is not in running condition presently. Engine starts but will not go into reverse and dies after short distance.
Notes from dealership are:" Vehicle came into shop dying and losing power after 20 minutes of driving. Diagnosed as a malfunction or loss of communication in the TCM. Customer reached out to "module Experts" our of Jacksonville, FL. to inquire about rebuilt and sold the customer a refurbished TCM. After removing the original part and installing the refurbished symptoms got worse and vehicle would not make it our of the parking lot under its own power. At this point we do not know if symptoms stem from further failures. APART FROM MECHANCIAL ISSUES VEHICLE IS IN GREAT CONDITION."

Perfect for weekend drives or daily commutes. Enjoy top-down motoring in this nimble sports car. It is very difficult to part with this fun little car. There is just no one in my area who knows how to fix it and I realize it is time to let go. Car would have to be towed. More pics can be found in Garage, Chat me if you have any questions about this MR2 Spyder.

Please add you car to the 2005 directory and also give me your vin for the list I keep on 2005 spyders. Good luck, seems like a fair price. Join the Facebook SMT group. That is a easy driver with reprogramming of system which dealers don't know how to do.

I’m happy to help you or the new buyer sort out the SMT transmission issues. Sadly the wasted money the dealer cost you is typical.
They don’t understand that THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ECU/TCU. The system “stops communicating” when another problem appears in the system. It can be as simple as a bad switch or position sensor. When the real problem is repaired, the system will begin communicating again, and the engine will run fine as the system ceases cutting fuel supply. DDPR in Sealy Texas is capable of repairing the system.

BKW, please send me your contact info at tfl1166@gmail.com. I’m on the Northside of Houston and would like to come take a look at your car. I already have a 2005 MR2 SMT and very interested.
