1. Arana has offered to loan me his Noob bar
2. he mentioned the same thing ... maybe a couple flats going from tube to tube
3. I thought he had a hole for the use of oem or did you want something else
4. probably within a couple lbs.

Just mild steel or stainless ?
I just noticed the hole for the toe hook so it's all good.

I remember reading someone mentioning licence plate issues. If it can be improved upon that would be great.

I can't speak for everyone else but whatever is cheapest as far as steel goes is good enough for me because I intend to have it painted so it disappears.

My goal is something like this but without the cat hanging from underneath.

Saw the crash bar on Burgan's car at the Dragon recently, it looked really good and not having the factory grills gave it a nice aggressive look IMO.

I am considering this, but my drivers side factory frame rail looks like trash from an accident before I bought the car. So if i run without the grills like I would want it, it would make it extremely noticeable.
I had a lot of the stuff cut out and replaced on my car. So since someone else might make this happen, consider me interested.

In the picture the license plate is offset way in ... you don't want it in the oem position ?
Will the plate bracket just be tack welded on or fully welded? If just tacked in several spots it would not be much trouble for someone to have it changed to their taste once they received it.

Or if if they say they don't want it in the OEM location then don't weld them on at all and just include so they can place them where they want.

Haven't got that far yet . Which location do you want ? I just know I don't want to make 10 different versions !

I think the OEM location would look the best simply because it will hide any of the bits on the rear facia that might make it look like an unfinished piece. It will also line up right for the illumination of the licence plate lights.

I think I speak for everyone. Thanks for exploring the possibility of making these again with improvements over the original.

I have unofficial dibs on the first one.

The only reason this is going to happen is because of the commitment and contribution of members like Dev and Phattires and Drummerdawg to this forum.
Actually, you are a big part of it. We can't thank you enough for sending the brace to Phattires so it can be manufactured again.

I completely missed out on this the first time because of my absence. I especially like this version better than the Amuse version because it does it's job by getting out of the way so you can see the piping and muffler.

I do have one question if anyone knows. The stock bumper has the mounting bracket for the catalytic converter. Can the cat be supported without this mounting point? Can a mounting point be added.

The layout of the original was specified with bars spaced for that exact reason of showing the muffler off and allowing dual tips. I believe Rcntype and myself where the only two who originally pushed for that.

You guys did well with that one. That's exactly what I would have pushed for.
Some of the exotic car designers have been pushing varying degrees of showing off the muffler and adding a thin mesh.
As much as I would like tips on the exhaust in this configuration I don't think it would look right. I wonder if thick walled chrome piping with a sharp cut off is the way to go.

If you dig real deep into old threads, rcntype had a bunch and trial and error through the bumper grill exhaust systems. He is my ALL time favorite exhaust whore on any forum. He inspired me to keep looking for what I wanted. He did some raw angle cut tips I really liked back in the day. My first car, and the first car I ever bolted an exhaust on was a Fiat x19. You had to remove a grill on that car too. Ansa quad tip muffler, threw the carb off for sure, I was a kid and thought it was cool to be that loud and throw flames on downshifts..

Back in the day (2005) I asked a Spyder owner at a meet who works at a performance shop if it was possible to run the exhaust pipes through the bumper. It never came to fruition but not long after I seen others do it on their own but it still never looked right aesthetically because the bumper was in the way.
Maybe the picture of the car I linked is just perfect and nothing else is needed except to paint the ugly bits black so the exhaust is the only thing that takes center stage.
