HOW TO get soda out of cloth seats?

My car was entered into, the head unit stolen and soda spilled all over my passenger seat. It's baking in the sun while I'm at work.

What can/should I do to get it out?

shop vac? If its in there good I'd just take the seat out (he said like it was so easy) and put a hose on it for like 5 minutes, then squeeze out everything i can, shopvac everything i can, and leave in the sun with multiple squeezings in between. Add in some sort of chemical cleaner to prevent mildew but if you're trying hard it shouldn't be too difficult to get all the moisture out, especially if you can separate the foam pad and rolling pin out the watter.

I don't have a shop vac handy. Maybe just spray and leave out for a few days?

I forgot to mention these are aftermarket cloth seats made with fiberglass.

A co-worker suggested steam cleaning at some place that does that. Would that be thorough enough?

It has some foam between the fiberglass and outside cloth layer. The overlay looks like a real b*** to take off as well. I might try that though and wash out the padding. Right now I'm inclined to just spray and lay since it seems the easiest.

It's not the head unit getting stolen that bothers me, it's the fact they couldn't be assed to set the soda aside. They just dumped it in the passenger seat carelessly. Balls!

This is the best idea yet. I'll launch an investigation immediately. My car must be clean!

The soda is a sugar stain, hot water will melt the sugar and drive the stain farther into the fibres. Try Soda water or Seltzer (basically fizzy water). The release of oxygen bubbles in the water will loosen the stain, then blot it with a sponge to lift out the excess water and the stain. then leave it out in the sun to bake/dry.
I'd do this, but I already followed previous advice and hosed the thing down for a bit. Not sure yet if it worked since it has yet to dry.

Buy CF seats with no cloth! Be a man!

Never any stains on cold hard CF. :)
I like the way you think. This is a great idea.

True, but if you round a wet corner too fast and loose the back end, there's nothing to absorb the 'mess' either
Disregard the great idea comment ;)
