Excellent info. Thank you.

I have yet to modify my tailights. But they are next on the list. I'll be coming back to this thread.

I DID modify my headlights, hower.

Started with an '03 pair of headlights, and had Lightwerkz out of New Jersey do the modification. Electrical work is just beyond me. Here are two videos they shot of the mods, including the halo switchback functionality. Pretty much everything was changed... down to a matte paint on the interior housing.

Full list of headlight components (for my modification) were:
  • Toyota OEM '03 headlights
  • Paint Housings Semi Flat Black
  • MR2 Spyder to Mini H1 7.0 Brackets
  • MIcro D2S, Osram CBB, Hylux 35W, Splitters, Input Adapters, Sealant, D2S Adapters
  • 70mm HD LED Switchback Halo Rings (pair)
  • V6 Triton 6K White Amber Switchback
Those headlights are clean!

Was it easy to install like plug and play, besides taking the headlights cover off?

Not bad for $120[emoji7]

Holy hell, those lights look slick. I LOVE the switchback with the turn signal.

Goddammit now I want to do my lights 😅

Thank you brother, it's honestly pretty much stock on the outside except for the lights and the side vents, the cosmetics are gonna be the last thing I'll do to it, I plan on supercharging it. Anyways, the third brake light is nothing more than a black wrap with the SPYDER cut into it, so when I brake you only see this. It might be stupid, but that's why I wanted it wrapped, if i get bored of it I just take it off and i have a perfect 3rd brake underneath it. View attachment 90943
Don’t be shy send the link of where you got it

I tried these for my high brake bulbs (2 out of the three were out when I got the car) and they work fine so far. It's been a month and this is not my daily driver so I can't speak as to longevity:

I need to do a side marker and one of the license plate LEDs but haven't yet. They also take the 194 bulbs.

I agree that LEDs have matured a lot since even the updated thread that I saw from 2015.
I should like to un-recommend these - there was at least one bad bulb that cost me a couple of fuses.

Hello everyone,
First post up here, but I've come to a conclusion after testing LEDs on my car and I guess I might make someone's life easier by bringing this topic back to life.
Some things changed from that time when Haloruler64 made this post:
LEDs and the Spyder: The Modern Take | MR2 SpyderChat
basically, I wanna give yall a list of bulbs that work perfectly good on our cars, without having hyperflash or any feedback issues, everything else is gonna be pretty much the same as the old post.

rear position/brake lights:
7443 7440 W21W T20 LED Lampadine dei Freni, KaiDengZhe 12V-24V Lampadine a LED per Auto Sostituisci per la Luce del Freno dell'auto Retromarcia Fanale Posteriore Arresto Marcia Diurna-2 PZ Bianco : Amazon.it: Auto e Moto

rear backing lights:
2pcs T20 W21W 7440 LED Lampadine PER Auto Invertendo La Luce Girare Segnale Freno Retromarcia Parcheggio Luci Posteriori Posizione Fanale Di Arresto Di Coda Lampadina 12V 24V 6000k Bianco : Amazon.it: Auto e Moto

rear turn indicators:
BAU15S PY21W Lampadina LED, OUSHI 7507 1156 1156PY RY10W Estremamente Luminosa 4000LM 12V-24V 21W Solo Sostituzione Per Indicatore Di Direzione LED, Giallo Ambra (confezione da 2) : Amazon.it: Auto e Moto

these were the ones available in Italy, where I'm from. They could not be available in your country depending where you are, but any similar bulbs would fit.

What's VERY IMPORTANT is that you either get chipped LEDs for the turn indicators (they come with an internal programmed chip that prevents hyperflashng) OR you get one of these flasher relays:
Yizhet 3Pin Relè Lampeggiante CF14 JL-02 EP35 LED Segnali di direzione lampeggiante elettronico lampeggiatore relè 12V 0.02A-20A per Motocicletta LED Indicatore di direzione : Amazon.it: Auto e Moto

Hoping this post helped anyone, pics are for reference of the brightness of the bulbs in a bright day situation. ( I also have tinted tail lights )

Can you help on how to fit EP35 relay?
I got led turn signal lights and they are flashing faster than normal..

Thank you in advance!

Hey! I did not have to fit that in my car, but after a quick search I will quote: "I forgot to post! Take the gauge bezel off, it's clipped in so pull out with the steering wheel column down. Then remove the three gauge screws and pull it to the side. You'll see it. Remove the one screw holding the relay in place, twist it 90 degrees, and pull it upwards. Then you have full access to it. Unplug it from its plug, plug new one in, and reverse." Quoted from user Haloruler64 in the following thread: Flasher Relay Replacement Guidance | MR2 SpyderChat Have a good one!
