While doing parts research for my friends Toyota Tundra, I came across these. They were made by a company up in Canada who specializes in custom CNC parts for the Tundra, the FJ Cruiser and other Toyota trucks. I was fascinated by the custom knobs he does for the FJ Cruiser. One is blocky looking (good for a truck) and the other one is round. What really caught my attention was the back of the knob. Wow, the insert cut is a perfect fit for the MR2 Spyder. Hmm.
So I contacted the company, sent some photos and specs, and they said sure, they could make some for Spyder. Three to a set, 10 set minimum.
Here's the kicker, they ain't cheap. $179 per set. Available in various colors/finishes. Anyone interested in a "group buy" ? Spyderchat folks have spent more $$ on less important stuff.

I probably should not have said "more $$ on less important stuff". Does "$$ on bling other un-important stuff" sound better? I will plead the 5th on what I have.
To add to the above:
TRD Front, Side and Rear Skirts
TRD Rear Spoiler
TRD Stainless Door Sills
TRD Oil Caps
Midship Runabout Wheel Caps
Aluminum shift bezels
Stainless Door Sill Inserts
Custom "Pull Tabs"

Weirdly enough this is one of the odd items I'd like to get, even at that price. Especially if it'll never be made again. It's metal and it won't melt.

I like the version in the 4th picture. Not a fan of the ones already on the market. They look like those $10 electronics surplus knobs that belong on an analog home theatre receiver or a homemade decade box.

I like cheap, I'm all into cheap. But sometimes even a cheapskate like me likes to indulge myself with something special. This is the Chinese ebay knob I am currently working on.

The thing about those Tacoma knobs are that they leak light (oh, ok, so buy LT's light blocker) - and that is what everyone is buying.

Cool. That's great to know if my little Chinese knob project doesn't pan out. I had heard some were better than others.
I never really thought people were gonna be interested in these billet knobs at that price. Maybe 8-10 years ago, but not today with a 20+ year old car.
But, I had to post it, just to see the results.
