TCU won't talk to Techstream

I have issues with Techstream not being able to connect to TCU or ECU - I get a message that the "Selected system is not responding or not available".
It's the latest Techstream version (from this year).
The car is 2003 and has the latest TCU (P/N ... 060).

Any ideas what might be going on?

With pirated software and cloned hardware the results are unpredictable...

Anyway I'm curious does this version of the software run on 64-bit systems? I have an older version that I have to run on a virtual 32-bit machine, it would be nice to do away with that if a working new 64-bit version is available.

Ok, like I said i'm NOT very good at this sort of thing but my system worked using software downloaded from the internet and a cable off ebay. I think you didn't install all the parts. there's something about installing ??? so that the computer recognizes the cable so that the computer will later be able to recognize the ECU. Does that make any since? Couldn't hurt to try what Paul said; seems like a good idea.Edit: well the edit function is working but not submitting without previewingFrankster- I was told it needed to be a 32 bit system but maybe it doesn't matter anymore??? Second edit: I'm NOT very good at this sort of thing, above!

Success!

I had to change the "Region" settings in Techstream to JAPAN - which makes sense as my car is a JDM model. But then I had to choose model year 2006+ as that was the only selection available specifically for "MR-S". Anyhow, it works fine now :)

FYI
The CD that came with the VCI cable only has the drivers for the cable, not the Techstream software so I had to purchase the Techstream separately.
Techstream only works on 32 bit XP op. system.
Apparently you can install a "virtual 32 bit machine" on a 64 bit computer but that's waay beyond me and getting an old laptop was waay easier :D

JDM ECU uses JBOD - not OBD2 - set up for the home market. Has a speed cut about 185kph.
