I'm always lusting after other cars. ALWAYS. The wife has said I can have new 2 seater such as a C6.5 vette or an Elise.

There's a catch as always. Two in fact.

1. The spyder and corolla must go.
2. She gets a new something since that will be THE family car.

What does spyderchat think I should do?

I drove a black 2005 auto today. It had all the bells and whistles besides nav and the glass targa. Holy carp! I could definitely live with that.

I meant what I said about 17k for my car. The faster it happens the faster I get a muscle car and get off daycare duty.

Corvettes....the Toyota Camry of sports cars.

Say what you want, but the car is cush with torque everywhere. It looks hot, and the truth is big city living is more condusive to a comfy automatic straight line car.

Somebody buy my spyder.

[I guess the real solution is to go test drive vettes and elises on my next friday off. Definitely have to show up in the spyder if I'm gonna have a chance of actually driving one.

Hey, you can test drive my Elise - just down the road from you. Still have my Spyder and MK2 MR2 though

I saw a red Elise today at the gas station. Lust, pure lust. A Corvette is a better car overall, but very few cars elicit as much gottahaveit as an Elise.

You know what I like the looks of? 2009 Camaro. I'm sure it has a lot to do with "Bumblebee" (from the Transformer movie).

Cayman S prices are going to drop when the new ones come out, too. Same thing for Boxster S prices. Cayman S is my #1 fave car that I could possibly afford.

I have a list of significant things I want to do to my Spyder, still, so no new car for moi.

Oh I think MoAtt should get the Viper for introducing you to your spyder.

I'd love to test drive the elise. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any way I can make it work as an only car. The vette is a different story. I just think I'm ready for a big luxurious gt car.[/b]
I think you'd be unhappy with the elise. Really after you getting a 2zz spyder and everything and still eyeing that vette. Add on top of that the fact that really it is a more track oriented car.

Jeebus have you seen the magazine renderings on Motor Trend? They're envisioning the new Boxster (and by extension the Cayman) with styling cues from the Carrera GT!

Its a little scary what vette mods cost, but it seems like for $2k you can do intake, exhaust, and sways which is 90% of what I want.

Right now I really just need to focus on offloading the spyder so I can move forward. So who wants a kicka55 2zz spyder?

2009 camaro should be sweet! the challenger will take the cake!! 392 Hemi with around 525hp - 540hp! oh ya, looks to boot!

i will get one or the other, ya'll can have all the others!!!

It looks like the question of this thread is close to being answered. Once the spyder sells, hopefully this week, I'm trading in the rolla and picking up a sweet deal I found on a lightly used 2007 C6. Then dump $2k on the exhaust, intake, and sway bars.

You're planning on mods already? Ha ha hahhahha.[/b]
That's it though. The cost of entry for FI or even wheels for the monster is in the multi-thousand dollar range. I'll probably end up pending another grand on a big stereo which is something I honestly miss from my crewcab pickup.

Come on, Eric, you know you want to swap me for my 1zz straight up! What do you care...you're selling the thing!

P.S. going to the spyder meet on Thursday?

Looks like the spyder may be sold except for a few mods. We may be looking at vette pictures by friday with any luck.[/b]
Vulture mode, on!

I have a pending sale on the car that should go through today. Following this weekend, I should have some stuff for sale. Most likely a couple sets of F&R STB's, a strvngartist enclosure/sub/amp, a set of JIC coilovers, and maybe a downpipe.

PM'ing me before I make a FS thread will not help you chances, so please don't.

With any luck, this is what I'll be driving this this evening or tomorrow at the latest.

That's actually a modded vette. No body kit, just mechanical improvements. The sticker let's everyone know. I'm buying a stock one. That was just the only pic of a silver I could find.[/b]
Congrats. While my main gripe about the Corvette is that its too "mass-produced" for me, there is no doubt its a great, fun car. Going from the Spyder to the C6 is going to be night and day. Enjoy the ride and be nice to the tires!
