well, it is time to take my entire car apart...including: sideskirts, front bumper, back bumper, front panals, and rear panals.

i figure i will put the whole job on here, from start to finish. ill take as many pics as i can along the way.

the reason for this is to have one place i can go to for any advise, or questions. i have done most of this before, but on wrecked spyders that i could just bend or cut things that were in my way. i cant do this now, so i may run into some things, i dont know.

plus, i will give some people something else to follow....lol.

here are a couple of pics i took, i guess i will just add all pics to this first post to keep them all together.

here is the kit after i got it off...still looks great!

from the front

and the rear

i figure i will point out how i took everything apart...help people in the future....

headlights removal..

two bolts in the top
Image

one bolt on the bottom back side
Image

then it is just a clip, pull forward and it will pop out.
Image

fender removal..all bolts are 10mm

bolt in front corner
Image

open door and there is another bolt at top
Image

under the plastic around bottom of windshild there is a bolt..plastic clip holds the plastic piece down
Image

under the car, by the tire, there are two bolts
Image

take the wheelwell plastic out by taking plastic clips out.
then you will see another plastic piece if you look inside the fender at the door. one plastic clip holds it in...take the plastic piece out, and you will see a bolt behind there.

Image

Image

Image

then there is one last bolt in the front corner
Image

you can take these out in any order you want

then you have this

I cant believe your not done yet Paul, wo slow down there, Huan is right you need new wheels, something wild and diff like the rest of your car[/b]
those are 10" wide wheels on a spyder, that is pretty different
Image
.

im not into wild, and i will not put cf, or any of the other stuff that people think is cool, just to be cool.

i would like a 5 spoke wheel (like in huans pic), but the only ones i have found cost way more than i want to spend on a second set of wheels right now.

you have to understand, wheels are hard to find with the size and offset that i need.

i also HATE my shift knob! i am going to find a trd one that looks better!

thanks for all the feedback!!

i knew when i built this car that it would not be perfect in everyones eyes.

i really dont want a blinging set of wheels. if the ones i had were the same offset, and 5 spoke, that would be better for me, but i am happy with these for now.

the black ht might look cool, but the whole black top, black hood, and black frunk, is just played out imo.

just remember, this is a race car for me. it is not a show car, or a garage or trailer queen. it is going to get chipped up, banged up a little (cones), and scuffed up.

i made the fg very thick where cones could hit it to keep it stress crack free.

the funny thing is, the coolest things that i like on it are, gregs gauge pod, and serinas door seals. they just look sooo cool!!

all i can say is, you should see it, hear it, and feel its power, in person!!

Paul listen to me....................................................dont change a thing. i was just curious on how it would look with a black ht and a pillars NOT the hood though....but as far i know its perfect.[/b]
no, i did not mean anything bad!!! i know that if 10 people built 10 cars, they would all be different. that is what makes it so great!!

i did think about a black top, but there are alreay a few with it, so i just stuck with red.

i wish i could have got done with the exhaust 100%, but i had to order some tips, and they came in, but i dont have time to weld them on before i leave.

oh well, next time
Image
.

btw, its not perfect. it has a few flaws that we did not catch until it was painted. ill point them out latter. they are small, and if you were not looking, you would not see most of them, but they are there.

Paul, let's see some shots from behind! It looks amazing though![/b]
i have to wait till i get my tips welded on. it just has 2 pipes sticking out right now, that is why i didnt take any from the back yet.

Pimpin'. It's honestly not the way I would have gone, but it's very nice. I'm sure if I saw it in person I would love it.

BTW, I'm also getting a chuckle out of the fact that Paul probably just spent more time and money on a Spyder than this site has ever seen, and the first thing we say is "buy new wheels!". IMO, the wheels are dope, and even if they weren't, just enjoy them for awhile. It's time to kick back and have a drink.

+1 I like the wheels on it personally.
