Miles from a tank of gas? Not good thread closed

:(:tongue3::tongue3::tongue3:
Spide friends I want some input on
how many miles do ya get on a full tank of gas?
After they (Xtreme car audio) drilled my amp to the drivers side
storage compartment I have noticed that the gauge goes down
faster? So I have fill up the car and hit the trip meter miles to see
what I am getting per tank. Okay it may be the Texas heat
making me delirious or my ADD just kickin in.
Not sure but would like to know how I fare with
other MR2.

Thanks

I have gotten 400 miles once but that was Hwy all the way. average around 310-320 thats about the time the little light comes on.

i usually fill up around 320+. Since everyone fills up at different times, the more important question is how many miles per gallon do we all get. If i drive normal (granny style driving), i average about 29.5 mpg. high rev driving kills that average obviously though.

reset your odometer, fill up gas, run your 300 miles, get gas, divide the odometer by the gallons just filled up, bam. post and compare.

I usually get 350 to 365 miles. On a recent trip to SoCal, my best leg was 390 miles in 10 gallons while staying 3 - 4 seconds behind a semi doing 70 mph. Would have been over 40+ mpg if I stayed behind a slower semi.

Supercharged with intake, exhaust, and light flywheel I can get 36 mpg which is about 360-400mpg. That is even going 80 up parts of the grade I drive and flying through corners with boost at 5-6000 RPMs. The funny thing is that after I supercharged the car, the gas light comes on when there is more fuel in the tank. It would come on after 11 gallons used but recently the light came on with 9-10 gallons used, but I usually fill up with 1/8th tank left. 99% of the time I cruise at 60 mph on the highway/freeway and have the soft top up. I have found that highway cruising you lose a few mpg and as for driving 60 mph, 5 mins of my time isn't worth getting 3-5 less mpg and possibly a ticket.

251 miles for light to come on??

This can not be good.

I drive back and forth to work at 80 miles an hour.
Could this be the reason why the bad milage??
Or maybe I have a bigger issue?
How can I tell if I am burning too much fuel?
Replacing the O2 sensors would it help?
I am not burnning any oil, but does come out very dark after 4k.
Maybe the radio people drilled a hole through my gas tank and how
can I check?

Any knowledge would be greatful.

Thanks

i drive 80+ mph for 150 miles and use about 1/2 tank.

i change oil every 3000 miles and use mobile one synthetic. old oil comes out dark amber.

i'd ck the MAF for cleanliness. and look for leaky fuel lines.

good luck
